Need to diversity your bookshelf, but unsure where to start? Is your TBR list a bunch of exciting reads you’re not sure how to prioritize? Perhaps I can help out by sharing my thoughts on excellent, diverse books (many Asian-inspired) that you shouldn’t put off reading any longer! Suggestions for more books are always welcome!
Growing up in the South meant spending a lot of my childhood rejecting my Korean heritage. The journey toward accepting and loving who I am was long and painful, but also healing. Looking back now, I hope that sharing my experiences will help us dispel the model minority myth and learn how to advocate for the AAPI community.
As a writer, it’s my personal goal to write the books I needed as a kid. I want to share not just my experiences as an author, but as someone who believes that dokkaebi are as cool as fairies, and hanboks are as breathtaking as ball gowns. Your support for diverse writers means the world to me! Thank you for listening to our stories, both personal and fictional!
